Overwhelming pride in ones personal self image can predispose oneself to a prejudicial view. "Vanity" personifies this view
with it's exaggerated, elongated form. The body language illustrated by this sculpture is structured to exemplify this. The
slender body imparts an elegance to the statement; while at the same time detracts, suggesting a emaciated figure who has
starved himself to achieve it. The figure vainly inspects his nails for perfection while standing in a hip jutting pose of superiority that a model might use for a photo shoot.
