Comments- Multiple subjects are the most difficult to carve. Since the base and both subjects are carved from the same piece of wood it is very difficult to visualize where the pieces lay within the wood, particularly when the subjects have to interact. Accurate initial positioning is essential to a successful outcome. In addition one subject is always in the way when trying to carve the other. The price of difficulty is time, and a piece like this consumes plenty of it.
