Ducks are among the easiest forms to accomplish sculpturally. Even more so in this position. Mainly because of the lack of having to deal with appendages. But even with wings
spread and toes showing they remain among the simplest of forms.
As with most birds the artist does not have to concern himself with muscle and bone structure and there interactivity with joint articulation. Still as with domestic pets, and to a degree bears, they have a benevolence lacking in most other creatures which allows them to add to a relaxed atmosphere in any room of the house.
This piece is entirely carved using only a chainsaw.
