Named and carved in reference and respect of the wood from which it is made; this eagle is only lightly detailed so as not to diminish the lush subtlety of the grain.
Osage Orange seems to have grain within grain. A beautiful wood to work with both in it's carvability and it's rich color. Though orange in color when it is first cut, it finishes to a more golden hue which I have worked to preserve in these pictures. Finished in clear Danish Oil.
