Other Gallery Sections
This subject selection was more or less dictated by the piece of wood. Number one, it's walnut, and walnut works so well with wildlife. Second was the proportions of the piece which were determined by an unknown woodcutter before I showed up. Dealing with these two pre-determinations I could not pass on a bear. This is one of the largest bears I have been able to do in this orientation (standing on all four legs), because it is so difficult to find a walnut tree of this size to accommodate a beat of this stature.
